    Richard Vander Kaay has served as Managing Director of RVK & Associates, Inc. since founding the firm in 1982. Previously, he held executive management positions with consumer products and electronics companies whose revenues ranged in size from $100 million to $2 billion. His background includes significant experience in strategic planning and corporate development. Richard entered the world of mergers and acquisitions while attempting to acquire a business for his own account. Through this effort, he contacted Portland, Oregon-based Sentrol, Inc., a manufacturer of high-security intrusion sensors, which he sold to The Berwind Corporation of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1983. The company was subsequently acquired by General Electric. This success led to the formation of RVK & Associates. A member of the Association for Corporate Growth and an avid runner, Richard earned a BS in Business Administration from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

    Prior to joining RVK, Steve served as Chief Financial Officer for Darigold, Inc., a leading $2 billion dairy products firm located in Seattle, WA. Steve directed Darigold’s extensive commodity trading operations, as well as its accounting, IT, corporate treasury, credit facilities negotiations, and acquisition activities. In addition, Steve worked as CFO for several high tech companies owned by Racal Electronics, a large UK-based software, electronics, and defense-related firm.

    Steve also has extensive international business experience, having lived in both Brazil and Mexico, where he worked for Continental Can, serving as Finance Director and Head of Treasury Operations. Steve earned an MBA in Finance from Columbia University.

    JB’s strong operating background includes his most recent position as President and Founder of Burdick Management, Inc., where he provided guidance and assistance to small and middle-market companies regarding: Accounting Systems Design and Implementation; Corporate Restructuring; Acquisitions/Dispositions; Financial Reporting; and SEC Compliance.

    Previously, JB served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Secretary, and Director of Biomat USA, Inc., a leading provider of source plasma- and biologically-based products focused on virology, serology, immunology, and molecular biology. The Company was acquired by GrupoGrifols, S.A. in 2001.

    JB previously held key financial positions at: International Rectifier Corporation, a world leader in the development and manufacturing of power semiconductors (MOSFET, IBGT, Diodes and Thyristors); Candle Corporation, a leading developer of diagnostic computer software products (acquired by IBM); Getty Oil Company (acquired by Texaco, Inc.); and Whittaker Corporation, a designer and manufacturer of fluid control devices and systems for commercial and military aircraft.

    JB is a Certified Public Accountant and holds an MBA (Economics and Marketing) and two BBA degrees (Accounting and Business Management) from Woodbury University in Glendale, California.

    Mark Duss joined RVK in 1995 after four years with The Harry Roman Company of Los Angeles, where he conducted acquisition work for private and public companies. Mark, whose strengths include strong strategic planning and organizational skills, brings more than 20 years of expertise in creating proprietary deal flow to his interactions with our private equity and corporate clients. Mark received a BS from the University of Evansville and a MBA from Northeastern University. A dedicated athlete, he participates in several triathlons per year.

    Jeff Gill previously served as Chief Operating Officer of IPC Information Systems, Inc., a leading provider of mission-critical communications solutions to the world's largest financial services firms as well as to public safety; government security; energy and power; and transportation organizations. Jeff also formerly held the position of President & Chief Executive Officer of British Telecom Financial Systems. His background involves building businesses in start-up, turn-around, IPO, and multi-national environments. Additionally, he has had P&L responsibility in the positions of President, Chief Executive Officer, and Chief Operating Officer in the U.K. and the U.S. Finally, Jeff has extensive global experience of M&A, reorganization, and consolidation in various industries, including telecommunications and business-to-business products and services. Jeff studied accountancy and business administration at Essex College of Advanced Technology, England.

    Jon Kleinke brings over 14 years of middle-market private equity experience to Richard Vander Kaay & Associates. His private equity career has included working with Wynnchurch Capital (Managing Director) and Blue Point Capital Partners (Principal), two prominent middle-market investment groups. While at both groups, Jon was responsible for all aspects related to originating, leading and managing private equity investments (e.g. sourcing, evaluating, structuring, negotiating, conducting due diligence, and managing post-transaction). In addition to his private equity background, Jon has extensive experience working within an industrial manufacturing environment, having worked for 9 years at General Electric, where he was involved in a number of financial management roles at two different manufacturing divisions. In these roles, Jon was responsible for financial planning and controllership efforts, as well as directly supporting business management in the pursuit of implementing operational and productivity improvements.

    Jon earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration and graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University. He then completed his MBA at The University of Chicago, graduating with honors.

    Dominic has a wealth of experience in the financial services, professional services, and technology industries, having spent over 20 years in working with global firms like Gartner, IBM, Microsoft and others, as well as tech startups and leading private equity and asset management firms. He brings strong sales and leadership expertise, a proven track record in business and corporate development success, and a history of solid deal origination and execution across multiple industries. Dominic’s time-tested operations and global account management experience enable him to manage challenging and complex deals from inception to close with precision. Dominic received a BS in International Business from Northeastern University. An avid skier, fly fisherman, and golfer, much of Dominic’s free time is spent outdoors. He resides outside of New York City with his wife, two daughters, and three dogs.

    With over 20 years of management experience in the construction products and homebuilding industries, Christine brings a history of delivering revenue, profit, and growth for start-up, turn-around, and rapid growth environments. Most recently, she served as General Sales Manager of one of the largest home builders in the nation—Pulte Homes, Corp. where she led a high-performing sales team in the management of several brands, including active adult, country club, and entry level segments, across several markets. During her 16-year tenure with Pulte Homes, Christine also developed sales training programs, cultivated internal and external relationships, and incorporated creative marketing concepts with strategic sales techniques, all of which enhanced the company’s bottom line. Christine received a BFA at CSULB in Architectural Interior Design.

    Jeff Wakefield previously served as President of two financial services companies in the Pacific Northwest, where he was responsible for the overall leadership and direction of these companies. During these tenures, he implemented and managed consistent double-digit annual growth. Jeff’s former responsibilities have also included corporate development, sales management, finance, accounting, operations management, training and human resources. Jeff received an Honors B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Puget Sound (emphasis in Finance). He also studied abroad at Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan. A native of Washington State, Jeff currently lives and works in the Puget Sound area.
